Sparks & Flames

This series of illustrations accompanied the writings of environmental journalist/communications director of the Land Conservancy of West Michigan Marie Orttenburger. These images helped portray the impact fire has on our ecosystems and its beneficial uses for creating healthy native places and the animals which call them home. Human’s role in the environment has created irreversible change, but by taking an approach which nurtures the land, we can attempt to stabilize ecosystems through conscientious land management techniques.
